The Australian Islamic House was established in 1987. After a period of unregistered activities, it was incorporated with the NSW Government in 1992 under the Association Incorporation Act.
► Hired community halls for years for congregational prayers, religious celebrations and Islamic functions
► Purchased an approximately 400m x 60m land property in 1998. The property, at Lot 12 Camden Valley Way, Edmondson Park 2171, is located on a busy highway and has a self contained car park to keep worshippers and visitors off the road.
► Constructed a temporary hall in 2005 (18m x 18m for males + a separate 10m x 8m for females). It is only adequate for approximately 460 men and 90 women and already too small as men are overspilling outside the hall on most occasions. The temporary hall will be retained and utilised for educational and community functions.
► All AIH property is registered as a perpetual trust in the name of The “Australian Islamic House” association and dedicated to serve the Australian Muslim community.
The Compulsive community need for this project.
► The Liverpool area has over 10,000 Muslims predominantly of Middle Eastern background without an Arabic speaking mosque for the fast growing community.
► The temporary hall is already overspilling with people. It is estimated to be far too small within two to three years. Due to current rezoning and residential sub-division, the Liverpool area and its surrounding suburbs is the fastest growing areas in Australia.
► The mosque will free the temporary hall for weekend scripture school and vibrant community activities.
► The proposed mosque offices and basic facilities will assist to provide onsite professional services for the community’s women, men, youths, children, the aged, the sick etc.
